I am such a sucker for Christmas. I LOVE IT!!!

I always like to give presents. Especially for my 2.5 year old son...I get to get him things likes trains, race cars, legos, and stuff to blow sh-t up with...err, all for him, of course.

Then, there's the food. Mrs. Blackfive comes from a long line of bakers - her family's last name in Czech is Baker - and the house smells soooo darn good this time of year. (BTW, I never had a cavity until I got married). Mr. Green can atest to the caliber of my wife's cookies, cakes, etc.

Anyway, I was just jamming Father Christmas by the Kinks! It rocks. I like all of the Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and Dianna Krall standards.

However, my all time favorite holiday tune is not a traditional one - it is a 1964 swinging number by Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme - That Holiday Feeling (by Don Costa). It's about Eydie trying to be in the holiday spirit and Steve trying to get a little action...cute, holiday-ish, funny. The lyrics are in the extended part of the post.

Eydie: Look how the snow is snowing
Steve: Your eyes are soft and glowing
Eydie: Jack Frost is nipping at our feet.
Steve: I bet your lips are warm and sweet

We’ve got that holiday feeling, that happy holiday feeling
