Pre-Emptive Disclosure on the Chicago Tribune
On Sunday, Chicago Tribune reporters Cam Simpson, Flynn McRoberts, and Lix Sly will tell stories of Muslim deportees that they tracked on their journey from the U.S. to Pakistan. While the Tribune may change course of their publishing between now and then, and I might be having the wool pulled over my eyes, I am reasonably sure that these series of articles will be published.
Here are some facts that will be presented in the reporters' stories:
After September 11th, 2001, the Attorney General of the United States required foreign "visitors" from 24 different Muslim countries (and North Korea) to register themselves with the government. This is a thinly veiled, liberal attempt to discredit the Patriot Act, the Bush Administration and the government. Here is why...While none of the deportees were ever charged with terror crimes, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM WERE HERE ILLEGALLY. If you were to weigh risks on who might commit an act of terror, someone from a Muslim country and physically in the U.S. illegally might be a good indicator.83,310 people registered themselves with our governement.
13,740 people that registered themselves with our government were ordered into deportation proceedings.
None of the deportees were ever charged with terror crimes.
While I haven't received advance copy of the reporters' stories, I did get this tidbit about them:
"And the entire exercise by the U.S. Justice Department - carried out by executive fiat and leagely outside the realm of public debate - has not led to a single public charge of terrorism, although officials insist they have identified people with suspected ties to terrorism who were not charged criminally. One program sent teams of federal agents to hunt down immigration scofflaws selected by nationality while thousands of others from non-Muslim countries, including convicted criminals, wandered free"So despite the fact that Muslims were responsible for the most vile attack on the United States of America, the Chicago Tribune would rather have our law officers spending time hunting more drug dealers and petty thieves than terrorists. The Tribune will also attempt to argue that, by sending these illegal aliens home, that we will alienate people that were already prediposed towards America's safety. Meaning the deportees came to America because they wanted to...
I've said it before and I'll say it again: When was the last time that you looked up at the sky, and upon seeing an airplane, thought to yourself, "I sure hope that some damn Mexicans haven't taken control of that aircraft!"
We'll have to see what direction the Tribune takes with these stories.
