General Wesley Clark Is Finally in the Running

Posted By Blackfive

Ahh, *yawn* ...Big Whoop...*crickets chirping*

The best part about ranting about what a loser Gen. (ret.) Wesley Clark is that google and aol searches have anti-Clark blogs pretty high on searches about Clark. These posts here and here have gotten some attention out there, and that is GOOD.

I saw Clark on the Today show with the hosts practically fawning all over him. After an exchange between Clark and Matt Lauer, I felt so dirty I thought I needed a shower. Matt and Katie were asking softball (hell, t-ball) questions like "Which one tax cut would you repeal." Clark's answers were, just like a politician's , vague and ambiguous - "We are looking into it."

Nice going. Way to take a stand, there, Wes.

Even Tim Russert, one Democrat that I admire, was actually charged up and seemed to be buying into the Clark PR Machine hype. Newsflash: This pisses me off. Russert usually does a good job of being fair to everyone, but this was making me sick.

Sure, Clark was in charge of NATO during the Kosovo campaign. Did he sleep in Kosovo, or anywhere remotely close to the campaign. I don't know, but I doubt it. People act like the guy is General Schwartzkopf or something. Look, I am no big fan of Stormin' Norman (he wasn't a fan of my unit, either), but the man was a leader. He was a soldier's soldier. He kept a shotgun under his bunk to protect himself. He wasn't long on looks or posturing, but he was long on substance. Love him or hate him - most soldiers would follow the guy to hell and back. Not so with Clinton's-boy Clark (and I ain't talkin' about Bill).

Some bloggers have covered the vague general.

This time the military community needs to police its own (crap) here. Therefore, any soldiers out there with a story about Clark - good or bad - can send it to me and I will try to get it posted on this site.

Sincerely,

Blackfive
